System Scratch Configuration
Go to an ESXi host under advanced settings:
And we’re looking for the ScratchConfig.ConfiguredScratchLocation setting.
This happens to be the iSCSI Datastore I have configured on this host. We can change this to any preferred location. If we change this, a reboot will be required for the changes to take effect.
System Swap Configuration
Manage/Edit the Core Dump Configuration of an ESXi host
First we need to start the core dump service.
Now we need to configure our ESXi hosts to dump to our specified location
We can also set these settings using host profiles so we don’t have to do this on each host individually.
Configure ESXi host to use a Central Syslog Server
We can centrally manage all of our system logs from a syslog server that is external from our vSphere environment.
